First host of the Grammy Awards in the past seven years
The Recording Academy announced on Wednesday who the first official host of the Grammy Awards in the past seven years is going to be. Fans will be glad to know that the Academy chose rapper and "NCIS: Los Angeles" actor LL Cool J.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of music's biggest night," the two-time winner of the Grammy Award stated in an interview. "I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true."
LL Cool J is known to have been the host of the Grammy nominations concert for the past years, ever since it was first broadcasted in 2008. The last host present at the Awards had been Queen Latifah in 2005. Since then the Grammy Awards commenced without a host.
The "Mama Said Knock You Out" rapper will announce several performances full of stars. Among the stars that will perform during the Awards we name: country singers Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift, pop singer Kelly Clarkson, rockers The Foo Fighters, R&B singer Bruno Mars and rapper Nicki Minaj.
At the moment, Kenny West is the leader as far as nominations go. The singer managed to win seven nods. Foo Fighters, Mars and British singer Adele have managed to win six nominations each.
The 54th annual Grammy Awards will take place on the 12th of February in Los Angeles. The event will be broadcasted live on CBS.
