Actor or action hero?

From time to time Mark Wahlberg plays an action hero on the big screen. As a result the actor believes he is capable of the same feat in real life as well. In an interview he gave to Men’s Journal that can be partially found online the actor tried to explain how he would have stopped the plane from crashing into the World Trade Center on 9/11. The ”Contraband” actor who was actually supposed to be on one of the planes stated calmly:
“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry,” Wahlberg said.
Some of you may be thinking that the quote was purposely taken out of context. However, in fact, it was not. The quote is taken from an interview in which the actor talked about his former reputation as a bad boy and his transition to a “really interesting man,” as George Clooney put it.
Interviewer Erik Hedegaard asked the actor how he acted in one of the bar brawls he got into in the past.
“When you put your hands on me, it’s a problem,” he said.
Hedegaard added: “So he’s still got a lot of that tough guy in him. More tough guy: He was scheduled to take one of the Boston-to-Los Angeles flights that crashed into the World Trade Center, but cancelled a few days prior. ‘If I was ... [the rest of the offending quote.]’”
