Awkward moment on Australian show
Earlier this week Journey 2: The Mysterious Island co-stars Vanessa Hudgens and Josh Hutcherson appeared on an Australian morning show to promote their latest project. The former couple answered their fair share of usual topics. However, one question in particular led to a poignant awkward silence. The awkward moment came three minutes after the interview started when the Sydney anchor asked the pair in a casual tone: "How long have you two been going out?"
A long pause and some awkward glances occupied the following seconds.
"We're not," Hutcherson replied in the end, breaking the ice, just as Hudgens shook her head. "We were at one point, but she broke my heart…no, I'm just kidding," he ended awkwardly when Vanessa and the anchor started laughing nervously.
It is a known fact that Vanessa had spent the last months with her new beau, Austin Butler.
"That was a while ago, no, we're just really good friends now," Hutcherson added and soon after Hudgens smacked him in the fact in a playful mode. The anchor, realizing the mistake started laughing and trying to mask the embarrassment. In the end he managed to apologize to the two actors.
"Sorry, I think someone in the studio here stitched me up with some incorrect information," he said, still blushing.
"That was a bit awkward," his co-host helped the matter a little.
"Yeah a little bit awkward," he said.
Apparently, the only one who was not affected by the mistake was Hutcherson who kept carrying on. "Good on them," he said. "That was funny."
