Ryan Seacrest continues deal with Fox
"It's very hard to imagine the show without Ryan," announced Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. "We certainly want to keep him."
Already speculations are swirling in the air regarding Ryan Seacrest's future on American Idol. In order to put the rumours to a rest Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly came forth and announced they were planning to work hard and make sure Seacrest remains the host for the famous show.
"As we know it is a much harder job than meets the eye," said Reilly during the network's TCA session on Sunday. "I thank everyone has come to realize the value of Ryan Seacrest. It's very hard to imagine [American Idol] without Ryan. We certainly want to keep him."
The annual contract Seacrest has with Fox for $15 million is going to end soon, after the upcoming season of American Idol draws to a close. Many sources believe the network is trying to convince Seacrest to accept a pay cut. However, Seacrest refuses to back away especially considering the fact that Jennifer Lopes receives $20 million each season.
People close to the man admitted Seacrest was frustrated by the lack of negotiations with the network.
"Fox has been doing nothing, they’e been sitting there. Until [Thursday] they hadn’t called Ryan," announced one source.
The 37 year old host also has a deal with Comcast's NBCUniversal. He also produces several shows including the famous Kardashian franchise. Reilly said he knew Seacrest would be "a tough negotiation," but one he expects to "come to a conclusion pretty quickly."
