Engagement for Michael Jordan
Michael Jordan managed to receive the best Christmas present of all times. The Charlotte Bobcats owner finally got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto. The news was announced by his spokesperson for WCNC-TV. The gossip website Tattle Tailz announced the two had been celebrating the event on a yacht in the French Riveria.
Prieto was born in Cuba. She is a former model who has been living with Jordan since 2009. The NBA legend is thus preparing for his second marriage. The first has been to Juanita with whom he had been married for 17 years.
The couple got separated in 2006. After the split Juanita managed to receive $168 million. From that marriage the former NBA player has two sons.
After the marriage to Juanita ended, a friend of the family told the Associated Press that he had been “shocked” by the fact that their marriage didn’t last.
"You read about women wanting his attention. But grown men and children do, too," Les Coney told the AP at the time. "He's a magnet. He hasn't played basketball in five years, but still, people stop and take pictures and ask for autographs. Marriage is hard for any couple, and if you add celebrity to that, it's even harder."
The two had kept a rather low profile until recently. In the past they had been seen at several red carpet events and Bobcats games. In September Prieto accompanied Jordan to the opening of Michael Jordan's Steak House that took place in Chicago.
