Jesse James and Kat Von D break up

Many considered they were far from a perfect match. Therefore, not many of their fans mourned when they heard that Jesse James and Kat Von D decided to call off their engagement.

The rumors spread across the world today when it was heard that 42 year old James and 29 year old Von D decided to cancel all plans regarding a summer wedding. Late on Monday, Von D turned to Twitter and spread the news herself.

"I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share," she wrote. "Thanks for respecting that."

James and Von D had been dating since August 2010 and trying to keep a long distance relationship working as he was living in Austin and she was filming “LA Ink” and living in Lost Angeles. They became engaged in January and the wedding they were planning was supposed to take place during their one year anniversary.

James’ recent Twitter messages did not hint at the break up he was going through. Instead he seemed to focus on cars and what he ate for lunch. However, he did give his own statement in the People Magazine where he said:

"I'm so sad because I really love her. ... The distance between us was just too much."

Jesse James has been married three times before, once with the well-known star, Sandra Bullock. He explained that he only reason they split up was because they could no longer maintain a relationship between Texas and Los Angeles.
